Wilfred J. Saulnier of McAdam passed away October
1, 2006 at Wauklehegan Manor in McAdam. Wilfred was born in Concession,
Nova Scotia in 1925, a son of the late Louie and Genevive Saulnier.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle
to his family. Wilfred was an avid fisherman, hunter and woodsman.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Libby (Robert), Nackawic
and Leonora Mott (Kevin), Tracy; three sons, Dale Theriault (Delphine),
Russell Theriault (Rose), both of McAdam and Greg Theriault (Ann),
Harvey; a daughter-in-law, Rene Saulnier, Saint John and her sons,
William and Eric Saulnier; thirteen additional grandchildren; several
great grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Deveau and Percille Gaulet
both of Nova Scotia; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his
parents, Wilfred was predeceased by his first wife, Janette, his
second wife, Marguerite, a son, Wilfred Joseph, two sisters, Estelle
LeBlanc and Nelsie Belliveau and a brother, Larry Saulnier. Resting
at St. Clements Catholic Church, 20 Highland Avenue, McAdam with
visiting hours Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October
6, 2006 at 1 p.m. by Rev. Kenneth Weir. Interment will follow in
Rockland Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory
of Wilfred, the family has suggested the Heart & Stroke

The death of Donald A. Sherman of St. Croix, NB
occurred on November 13, 2002 at the Charlotte County Hospital in St.
Stephen, NB. Don was the son of the late Andrew Cameron and Amy Helen
(Marshall) Sherman and was born in McAdam, NB June 19, 1928. Don is
survived by his wife, Mary E. (Lounder) Sherman, their six children,
ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, two sisters Nina (Bill)
MacBean of McAdam, NB and Kathleen MacWilliams of Messena, New York,
two brothers, Walter (Audrey) Sherman of McAdam, NB and Richard (Marie)
Sherman of Vernon, B.C., many, many nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased
by sisters, Susan Jane Carvell, Ellery Mable Biggar, Martha Matilda
Edgecomb, brothers, Roy and infant baby George. Resting at St. Paul's
United Church, 155 Saunders Road, McAdam, NB with visitation on Friday
November 15, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Service will be
held at the church on Saturday November 16, 2002 at 2:00 PM with Rev.

It is with great sadness that the family of Maurice
J. Soucy of McAdam, NB announce his passing on December 12, 2007
after a courageous six year battle with cancer. With his loving family
by his side, Maurice peacefully slipped away in the arms of our loving
Saviour at the McAdam Health Center. He was born in 1944 at Saint-Rose
de Degele, Quebec, a son of the late Adrien and Marie-Martha Soucy.
He came to McAdam in 1962 and was employed through the years as
a railroad worker and a lumberman. He cherished spending time with
his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, wheeling and all other
outdoor adventures. He loved spending quality time in Magaguadavic
at his cottage, "Soucy Chalet".
Maurice leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Stella (Cleghorn) Soucy; his only
son, Denne, McAdam; four daughters, Cathy Young (Lawrence), Keswick, Sherrie
Robertson, McAdam, Holly Hood (Michael), Magaguadavic and Crissy Soucy, McAdam.
He had many grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished dearly.
He is also survived by a sister, Marie Rose Nadeau (Ronald) and two brothers,
Lawrence Soucy (Jackie) and Jean Rock Soucy (Claudette), all of Montreal.
In addition to his parents, Maurice was predeceased by a brother Gerard and an
infant sister, Rachelle.
Visitation will take place at his home, 61 Lake Avenue, McAdam on Thursday from
7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held
at the Voice of Pentecost Church, McAdam on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 2
p.m. with Pastor Stephen Tompkins and Tony Miller officiating.
Pallbearers will be Keith Robertson, Vaughan McGillicuddy, Malcolm MacKinnon,
Albert Hood and grandsons, Daniel Robertson and Caleb Robertson.

Our hearts were broken and God’s
arms were open ........
It is with great loss and sadness that the family of Stella G. Soucy
of McAdam announce the passing of a beloved mother, grandmother and sister
on March 6, 2008 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after eight years of
battling cancer. She was blessed to have her family by her side.
Born on August 3, 1943 in Surrey, England, she was a daughter of the late Archie
and Kathleen (Hughes) Cleghorn. Stella was a housewife for 44 years. Her passions
were painting, sewing alterations and cake decorating. She enjoyed tending her
flower gardens and spending time with her family.
Stella is survived by her five children, Cathy Young (Lawrence), Keswick, Sherrie
Robertson, McAdam, Holly Hood (Michael), Magaguadavic, Crissy Soucy (Derek),
McAdam and Denne Soucy, McAdam; many grandchildren, Daniel, Caleb, Tara and Anna
Robertson, Jeffery and Alaina Hood, Kara Jane McLaughlin, Krystal, Amanda and
Jake Soucy, Colton, Kyle and Chelesa Brewer, Angela, Christopher, Justin, Victoria,
Olivia, Theresa and Anna Young. She is also survived by two brothers, Raymond
Cleghorn (Edna), McAdam and Archie Cleghorn, Scarborough, ON, a sister, Diane
Donaher (Wayne), McAdam and an uncle, Brian Hughes (Sylvia) and their son Stephen
of England. She has several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her niece
Karen LeBlanc was very special to her heart. She was a woman of strong faith
and attended the Catholic Church, Word of Faith Church and Voice of Pentecost
Church.
In addition to her parents, Stella was predeceased by her husband Maurice in
December of 2007; a sister-in-law, Willie Cleghorn and a nephew Stephen Cleghorn.
Visiting hours will be held at Voice of Pentecost Church, 82 Harvey Road, McAdam
on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral will be held on Sunday, March
9, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the church with Rev. Stephen Tompkins officiating as well
as Pastor Terry Messer. Luncheon will be held at the church following the service.
Interment will be later at Rockland Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Stella, the family has
suggested the Lakeland Resource Center or charity of the donor’s choice.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Young, Keith Robertson, Michael Hood, Derek
Thurber and Terry Brewer.

Margaret Beatrice Spinney |
Margaret B. Spinney, formerly of McAdam passed away
August 21, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was born
in Fosterville on July 8, 1920, a daughter of the late William H. and
Jane Emma (MacKay) Gaskin. Margaret was a member of St. Paul's United
Church of Canada in McAdam when her health permitted. For the past
two years she has been a resident of Swanhaven in Harvey Station. She
was a member of the Harvey Senior Citizens Club and enjoyed playing
bingo at the Lions Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Alice Christie (Artie),
Harvey; two granddaughters, Eileen Cairns (Marc Mazerolle) and Jennifer
Toner (George) both of Harvey; three great grandchildren, Tara Toner
(Casey O'Brien), Markham, ON, Derek Toner, Harvey and Alissa Cairns,
London, ON; one great great grandson, Denver; several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Henry A. Spinney
in 1980 and by several sisters and brothers.
Resting at Swan Funeral Home 1826 Highway 3, Harvey
Station with visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral
service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, August
24, 2005 at 2 pm. with Rev. George Clark officiating. Interment in
Rockland Cemetery.

| MCPL Christopher Paul Raymond Stannix |
24, of Cole Harbour, passed away on April 8, 2007
while serving in Afghanistan protecting our rights and freedoms.
Born in North Bay, Ontario, he was the son of Kenneth H. F. and Kathy
A. (Little) Stannix originally from McAdam, NB. Chris graduated from
Auburn High School in 2001, and was currently attending Saint Mary's
University. In 2000, he enlisted with the Princess Louise Fusiliers
Infantry Regiment, Halifax. While with the Regiment, he completed
many military leadership courses and participated in various military
exercises and taskings. He was promoted to Master Corporal in February
2006. Putting his university education on hold, Chris was deployed
to Afghanistan in January 2007. Further, in order to serve with the
2 RCR Battle Group in Afghanistan, he willingly chose to accept a
temporary reduction in rank. His pastimes included paintballing,
computer gaming and reading. More than anything, Chris enjoyed spending
time with family and friends while Candice was the true love of his
life. His sense of humor, dedication, courage and willingness to
help others will be missed by all those who knew him. In summing
up his belief in the Canadian mission in Afghanistan, Chris stated, "I would
like to think if I was in the same position there... somebody would be
willing to step in and help me in the exact same way". Chris will
be remembered as a best friend to all. He is survived by his spouse,
Candice P. D. Ziolkowski; sisters, Lesley Sunderland, Meaghan Stannix;
nephew, Ryan Sunderland; niece, Faith Sunderland, all of Dartmouth;
paternal grandmother, Thelma Stannix, Bayfield, ON, maternal grandmother,
