Survived by one sister Marion Vanstone (Harry), St. Stephen, NB; four Vanstone nieces, one Vanstone nephew and four Ahern nieces. predeceased by two sisters Florence Coulter and Evelyn Ahern. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Union Street, St. Stephen, NB on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 12:00 Noon. With Rev. Paul Riley officiating. Frances Mary Carroll

The passing of Frances Mary Carroll occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Frdericton, N.B. on March 10, 2000, following an illness which has kept her a patient there for the previous seven weeks.
Frances was born in Mcadam, N.B., on June 4, 1919 and lived there all her life.  She was the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Taylor) Storr, both who predeceased her.  She was married for 25 years to Walter Adrian Carroll, who passed away on January 7, 1968.
She is survived by their five children, Gloria Adams (Arnold) of McAdam, Frank Carroll (Eleanor), Mary Scott, of Charlottetown, P.E.I., Elsie Carroll of McAdam and Betty Lou Christie (Eric), of Christie Ridge, N.B..
Frances has one sister, Willa Boone, who still resides in McAdam.
She was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren, Tony Adams (Diane), of Trenton, ON., John Scott (Beth), of St. Louis, MO., Gail Saulnier (Gordie), of Barrie, ON., Pattie Scott, of Charlottetown, P.E.I, Tammy Adams (Mike Watson), of Harvey Station, N.B., Tricia Hammill (Corey), of Burlington, ON., Lindsay Christie, of Fredericton, N.B., Scott Christie, of UNB, Fredericton, N.B., and Christy, Courtnay and Michael Carroll, all of McAdam; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Jennifer Adams, of Trenton, ON., and two day old Joshua Watson, of Harvey, N.B.
She is also survived by three nieces, Joan Daigle, Sandra Lackie and Shirley Saunders, all in New Brunswick.
In her 81st year, Frances Carroll was still an active citizen of the Village of McAdam, which she loved.  She supported and attended community events and organizations to which she belonged and was seen almost daily with her special friends, Suzanne or Tracy, going about the village of which she was so proud that her only son was Mayor.
Frances Carroll had operated a taxi service in McAdam for over 40 years before her retirement and she and her husband, Walter, had begun an ambulance service in the community of McAdam, which is still in operation today.  She was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxilliary, R.C.L., Branch #7, a member of the I.O.D.E., the Ladies PC Club, and an active parishioner of St. George's Anglican Church.  She devoted her life to her family, and her community and will be sadly missed by all who  knew her.
Frances Carroll was brought home to rest in her lifelong home at 23 Stannix St., McAdam, N.B., where her family received visitation from over 320 friends and relatives.  The Ladies Auxilliary, R.C.L., Branch #7, held a memorial service at the home, and also provided an Honor Guard outside the church following the funeral service.
The funeral service was held at St. George's Anglican Church, McAdam, N.B., on March 13, 2000, with the Rev. Charles Smart officiating.  The eulogy was given by Patti Scott and Tricia Hammill, granddaughters.  The Lesson and Psalm were read by grandsons, Tony Adams and Scott Christie, and a favorite poem of their grandmother's was read by Tammy Adams and Lindsay Christie.  Another grand-daughter, Gail Saulnier, read a letter from her brother, John Scott, of St. Louis, about his memories of "Grammie".
Favorite hymns, How Great Thou Art and Good Night and Good Morning  were sung by the combined choir, with a solo , Just a Closer Walk With Thee , provided by Joan Blair, of McAdam.
Pallbearers were, Tony Adams, Scott Christie, Corey Hammill, Kevin MacAulay, Mark Keenan, and Paul Wayne Scott.
Internement will take place in the McAdam Rockland Cemetery in the spring.

Phil was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. A kind, gentle man to all who knew him. He worked for the CPR for 35 years. Charter and life member of Lion's International, member of St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, on the board of Waulklehegan Manor and Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels.
Resting at St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, Highland Ave., McAdam, from where Mass of Christian Buriel will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Arnie Hachey officiating. Internment at the Rockland Cemetery, McAdam.
Visiting hours will be held at the church on Tuesday, March 14, 2000 from 7 - 9 p.m.  Vigil Service will be held at the church on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
