Calvert E. Day, 76, died unexpectedly Oct. 4,
1998, at a Calais Hospital. He
was born Dec. 20, 1921 in McAdam, N.B., the son of Laurence Greenville
and Eva Amelia (Tracy) Day.
Calvert was the first man to retire from the Georgia-Pacific Chip-N-Saw
Mill, Woodland Division, Feb. 1, 1985. He was a member of the Royal
Canadian Air Force for eight years, serving five years overseas in WWII
and three years in Search and Rescue in the Canadian Artic. He
was a Free Mason, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Lord
Beaverbrook RCAF Club, Fredericton. He was a New Brunswick registered
guide for many years. He worked on the log drives on the
St. Croix River through the last drive.
He was predeceased by two sons, Ronald Day of Simcoe, Ont., and David
Day of Baring, Me., and one brother, Laurence "Arlie" Day of McAdam,
N.B.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine V. (Scott) Day, of Baring; five
sons, Harvey Day of Meridian, ID, Calvert Day and his wife Kathleen,
of Greenfield, MA., Allan Day and his wife Kathryn, and Leslie Day, all
of Calais, Lynn Day and his wife Tina, of Baring; four daughers, Donna
Kreizenbeck and her husband, Mark, of Meridian, ID, Dianna Shannon and
her husband, Gary, Darleen Furry and her husband, George, all of Simcoe,
ON. and Laura Wilson and her husband, Robert, of Calais; one sister,
Avis Boon and her husband, Arnold, of McAdam, N.B.; one sister-in-law,
Georgina Day of McAdam, N.B.; 23 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews,
many great-nieces and nephews, many cousins and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct.
9, 1998 at the First Baptist Church in Milltown with Pastor Bob
Hinton officiating. Graveside
services will be held 2 p.m. Atlantic time at the Rockland Cemetery,
McAdam, N.B.

August 2, 2002, Georgina May (Folland) Day, widow of Lawrence A. Day
of McAdam, NB. Survived by two sons, Wayne and his wife Laura and Larry
and his wife Jean, both of McAdam, NB; two daughters, Loraine, Mrs.
Ralph MacDonald of Prince Edward Island, and Gloria, Mrs. Jack Thornton
of McAdam, NB; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews. Rested at the Rockland Drive United Baptist
Church, McAdam, NB, from where funeral service was held on Sunday,
August 4, 2002 at 2p.m. with Pastor David Ingalls officiating. Visitation
was held at the church on Saturday evening 7-9 p.m. Interment in the
Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, NB. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the
Diabetes Association, Rockland Drive United Baptist Church or charity

Arthur (Bob) Gerald Dewitt of McAdam, NB.
Survived by best friend and companion, Jean Coburn, 1 daughter, Judy Kaupp,
Didsbury, AB., 1 son, Gary Dewitt (Robea), Baie, Ste. Anne, NB, 8 grandchildren,
15 great grandchildren, 1 brother, 3 sisters, several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife, Georgina Ruth (Armstrong) Dewitt.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, Saunders Road,
McAdam, NB on Friday January 13, 2006 at 2 PM.
Visiting hours will be held at St. Paul’s United Church on Thursday from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
Interment at Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, NB.

Margaret A. DeWitt of McAdam
died March 27, 2002 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen.
Born at McAdam on September 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Irving
and Roseanna
(Clifford) Nicholson. Margaret devoted her life to her husband, her family
and St. Clements Catholic Church in McAdam. She was a member of the CWL for
more than 60 years. She is survived by five daughters, Peggy Ansems, Montague,
PEI, JoAnne Ponevas (Alfred), Manitoba, Jinny Morgan (Jack), Brantford, Ontario,
Gale DeWitt (Ken), Stoney Creek, Ontario and Bonnie DeWitt (Jack), Barrie,
Ontario; five sons, Wayne DeWitt (Nancy), Collingwood, Ontario, Ron DeWitt
(Kathy), Dale DeWitt (Nancy, both of Dunnville, Ontario, Don DeWitt, Caistor
Centre, Ontario and Dan DeWitt (Marlene), Stoney Creek, Ontario; several grandchildren,
great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband,
William T. DeWitt in 1997 and a son-in-law, Ted Ansems in 1996. Resting at
Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station with visiting hours Sunday,
March 31, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Visiting hours will be held Monday,
April 1, 2002 at St. Clements Catholic Church, McAdam from 10 a.m. until the
hour of service at 11 a.m. when a Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated
by
Rev. Bill Brennan. Interment will be later at Rockland Cemetery.

the family has suggested the Candian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

At the Saint John Regional Hospital December 7, 2007 Stephen Stillman
Dewitt, of Farm Road, McAdam, N.B. son of the late Norman Earl and Almeda
(Gallison) Dewitt. Survived by his wife, Madeline (Melvin) Dewitt, one
daughter, Darlene Fraser (Phillip) of St. Stephen, N.B., two sons, Stephen
Dewitt and Norman Dewitt (Kathy) of McAdam, N.B. , five grandchildren,
ten great grandchildren, three sisters and several nieces and nephews.
No visiting or funeral service by request. Graveside service will be held at
the Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, N.B. at a later date. Remembrances to the Cancer
Society or the charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral

H. Stanley Dixon

The death of H. Stanley Dixon, husband of the late
Fraetha Louise (White) Dixon, occurred on Monday September 20, 2004
at York Manor. Born in Lawrence Station, Charlotte County, NB. He was
the son of the late Walter and Bessie (Conley) Dixon. Mr. Dixon was
a retired Federal Civil Servant for the Department of Immigration.
He worked as a Special Inquiries Officer in both McAdam and Fredericton.
He was a York County Councilor for several years and also Warden for
the County of York in 1965 and 1966. He was the first Mayor of the
village of McAdam and was the Chairman of the Board of York Manor and
County Properties for 17 years, including during the construction phase.
He was also a former city of Fredericton Councilor. He joined the Ashlar
Lodge F&AM in McAdam in 1939 and was the Worshipful Master in 1950.
He later joined the Alexandria Lodge F&AM in Fredericton. Mr. Dixon
had been a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite since 1963.
He was a former District Deputy Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge.
H. Stanley Dixon is survived by two sons, Donald Stanley Dixon of Fredericton,
NB and Curtis Brian Dixon (Joan) of Fredericton, NB; seven grandchildren,
Ted (Susan), Stephen, Stephanie, Jennifer, Kimberley (Todd), Peter,
Jodi and Craig and ten great grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents,
Mr. Dixon was predeceased by one brother William Edward Dixon. Visitation
will take place at Saint Paul's United Church, McAdam, NB on Thursday,
September 23, 2004 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at
St. Paul's United Church, McAdam, NB on Friday, September 24, 2004
at 11 am with Rev. Ellen Beairsto officiating and Rev. Gil MacKenzie
assisting. Interment will take place at Rockland Cemetery, McAdam,
NB. Pallbearers for the service are, Peter Dixon, Craig Dixon, Stephen
Dixon and Todd Stephens. For those who wish, remembrances made to the
